Grasshopper mowers are built tough to stand up to the most demanding applications and deliver the highest quality cut. Every Grasshopper is designed for strength and durability without excess weight to provide superb agility with a light footprint.

With precision robotically welded, high-grade steel tubular exoSkeletal™ frame and I-beam reinforcement, Grasshopper mowers are built to last. True metallic fenders and lower ingestion guards shroud internal components from harsh elements and the hazards of commercial mowing.

Anvil-edged DuraMax® decks get their geometric strength from a combination of heavy-gauge, formed steel construction and a 1/2-inch-thick reinforced, angled leading edge.

Powerful, durable overhead valve, horizontal crankshaft engines offer better cooling, airflow and internal lubrication. The horizontal alignment also provides better power transfer to the cutting decks and implements.

Grasshopper mowers also feature:

  • Massive 8-inch spindle flanges anchored to double layers of robotically welded formed steel in a 6-bolt pattern spread the force of impact for greater strength in commercial applications. Triple strength decks are nearly 1 inch thick in stress zones with durable Sentry™ spindles mounted on spindle planes that are more than 25% thicker than 1/4 inch. Spindle guards shield the housing and seal lower bearings from grass wrap and dirt ingestion. High-impact, high-rotational speed bearings with durable seals for spindle longevity.

  • GrassMax™ blade system optimizes mowing results with high-strength, tempered steel blades that cut close to deck edges to help eliminate secondary trimming. Choose from a range of specialty blades to suit your application.

  • A spring-tensioned idler arm system transfers power in a flat plane to specially designed Kevlar® cord belts. Large idlers extend belt life.

  • Optional heavy-duty TrimMaster™ roller kit for 52-, 61- and 72-inch DuraMax® decks speeds close trimming near buildings, fences and other obstacles.

MidMount™ — A four-wheel power unit with the cutting deck mounted under the operator’s seating position and forward of the engine. The operator rides above the cutting deck.

  • Design-Matched Drive Systems — Powerful, design-matched G2 drive systems use quality pumps and wheel motors chosen to work together, to run cooler and more reliably for longer service life.

  • Anvil-edged DuraMax® decks get their superior strength and durability from a combination of heavy-gauge, formed steel construction and an angled leading edge that is reinforced to 1/2 inch thick on 52-inch and larger decks.

  • Auxiliary Cooling Fan — Each transmission pump features an auxiliary cooling fan, providing a cooler operating environment, extended service intervals and longer transmission life.

  • SmartFrame™ Construction and InFrame™ Suspension — Modular 3-piece SmartFrame™ construction provides flexible durability, dampens vibration and shock, and provides a smoother ride. InFrame™ suspension increases productivity by smoothing out the ride and decreasing operator fatigue.

  • Space-age synthetics serve as shock absorbers in strategic locations to reduce vibrations and operator fatigue.

  • Optional DuraFlex™ Suspension Forks — Optional DuraFlex™ Suspension Forks absorb impacts of rough terrain to maintain a level cut, and can be set for use with PowerVac™ collectors.

  • Optional DuraGuard™ Bumper — Optional DuraGuard™ bumper protects rear of mower while preserving easy access for removal of the rear service shield.

  • 4X Rear Discharge™ Decks — 4-spindle design distributes clippings behind the mower, away from the engine and operator.

  • Flexible discharge shields fold on impact.

  • Fixed-front axle design and standard anti-scalp rollers help eliminate scalping.

FrontMount™ — A three- or four-wheel power unit with the cutting deck mounted forward of both the engine and the operator’s seating position. The tail wheels are located at the rear of the unit.

  • FrontMount™ DuraMax® decks follow ground contours without scalping, while superior airflow within the extra-deep cutting chambers enhances clipping dispersal and provides a smooth, even cut every time.

  • Design-Matched Drive Systems — Powerful, design-matched drive systems use quality pumps and wheel motors chosen to work together, to run cooler and more reliably for longer service life.

  • T-Drive™ Hydrostatic Transmissions — Unmistakably intelligent, the revolutionary T-Drive™ tandem pumps-in-reservoir transmission is specifically designed for turf-care applications. The T-Drive™ has fewer moving parts and features high-torque Parker wheel motors, high-efficiency fine-particle flitration and in-line CoolFan™ cooling system for long-running performance and dependability. (Standard on 600 and 700 Series.)

  • AntiVibe Power Platform™ — The AntiVibe Power Platform™ isolates the engine and T-Drive™ train from the operator platform, directs more power to the cutting deck or implement and provides an unprecedented vibration-free experience for the operator.

  • MaxTrax® — MaxTrax® weight transfer system maintains traction so it holds its ground on uneven terrain.

  • Balanced Weight Distribution — The mower’s weight is distributed evenly across five or six wheels to provide a light footprint for a smooth ride and even cut.

  • Optional one-the-go hydraulic deck lift raises the front of the deck to clear curbs, trailer ramps and other low-profile obstacles (standard on 900 Series power units).
